Domestic Violence Awareness: Dom. Violence Awareness Month

This guide will help to raise awareness about healthy relationships, and to provide resources to prevent dating violence and among teens and college students

Domestic Violence Awareness Month

"Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM) was launched nationwide in October 1987 as a way to connect and unite individuals and organizations working on domestic violence issues while raising awareness for those issues. Over the past 30+ years, much progress has been made to support domestic violence victims and survivors, to hold abusers accountable, and to create and update legislation to further those goals."

Go Purple

Join our ‘Purple Thursday’ campaign on Thursday, October 17, by wearing purple to show our support for those who have experience domestic violence and abuse and let them know that help is available for themselves and their families. To participate in supporting DVAM/Purple Thursday, please share a photo of you wearing purple with the NIH Civil Branch on Wellness@NIH Facebook Page
